The Challenge
Originally the property was fully planted with native landscaping which was in sharp contrast to the Mediterranean style of the home.
Design Goals
Create a more structured feel while retaining some of the original plantings. Espalier on the back of a fireplace wall complements the European feel of the home. Topiary trees to accentuate the Juliette Balcony. Bold container plantings on the hardscapes to soften the feel and create a more inviting experience throughout.
Result
The completed landscape now feels like a natural extension of the home's architecture while reflecting the personalities of the owners who enjoy wandering through the gardens each day.

The Challenge
Old gardens, long neglected had become overgrown with weeds and unattended.
The property lacked interest and any cohesive relationship between the architecture and surrounding landscape creating an uninviting outdoor experience.
Design Goals
Naturalized planting with carefully selected plants, inspired by the regional area, creating layered textures color and seasonal interest throughout the garden.
Result
This has now become one of the most spectacular areas on the property and feels like its always belonged there. The finished garden has become a favorite gathering place where the owners enjoy entertaining family and friends throughout the year.

The Challenge
Old gardens, long neglected, had become unsightly, giving the whole property a vacant feel and a lack of curb appeal. This was located in a hot dry area in front entrance of the home. The soil was heavy hard clay.
Design Goals
Intensive soil building and curating a bold plant selection.
Create a walkway around the home with a borderless garden, giving the owners a feeling of walking through a provincial landscape.
Result
The impact was more dramatic than expected with the gardens becoming a focal point of the whole property with stunning all season colors. The owner enjoys entertaining and walking friends through the garden area in the cool evenings.
